In his lecture, Prof. Ostoyich will introduce various projects he is conducting that pertain to the history of the Shanghai Jewish refugees. He will present the history of two groups of former Shanghai refugees that arrived in Germany in 1950.
The first group was sent to the Tirpitz transport depot in Bremen and the second (larger) group was split up among various DP camps in Bavaria.
With respect to the Bavarian group, Ostoyich will present the preliminary findings of the research he has been conducting in the Bayerisches Hauptstaatsarchiv.
